Maciej Piotrowski, pianist was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1959. He has completed his musical studies under Professor Barbara Hesse-Bukowska and Professor Margerita Trombini-Kazuro at the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music. He obtained his M.A. degree with honors in 1982. |
Maciej Piotrowski was granted the National
Frederic Chopin scholarship twice, and earned a special prize by the Polish Minister of
Culture and Fine Arts for the promotion of young students as a testimonial of their
outstanding artistic achievements. He is regularly invited by the Chopin Festival in
Duszniki, Poland, The Polish Festival of Piano Music in Slupsk Chopin Festival in Gaming,
Austria and Music Festival in Toledo, Spain. Maciej Piotrowski's concerts in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Austria, Russia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany, Sweden, Finland, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, Japan, Mexico, Canada and the United States all received excellent reviews. Maciej Piotrowski has, in addition, performed chamber music with Barbara Hesse-Bukowska, Kimball Wheeler, Varsovia String Quartet and the NIH Chamber Players. He appears frequently with cellist Wojciech Walasek (Poland, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, France, and Spain). He has made recordings for the Polish National Radio and Television as well as Bulgarian and Mexican radio stations. Since 1981 Maciej Piotrowski has been teaching at the Piano Faculty of Frederic Chopin Academy of Music, Warsaw, Poland. He has also conducts piano master classes in Brazil, Mexico, Japan and Australia.
